- CONTRACT TYPE: Two roles: 1 x Permanent, Full-time and 1 x 18 month fixed-term contract, full-time

- IN-HOUSE TITLE: Commercial, Rights & Business Affairs Manager
- LOCATION: London, Salford or Cardiff - 2-3 days in the office with hybrid working for the remainder
- PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £53,000 - £59,000pa (plus London Weighting £5,441pa if London based), depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLEJoin the BBC Technology Commercial team, leading strategic commercial initiatives across 200+ technology suppliers, ensuring value, compliance, and innovation. As a Commercial Manager at the BBC, you will provide commercial advice to stakeholders across the BBC, resolve contractual issues, and align supplier relationships with the BBC's technology strategy. With your media and IT industry insight and collaborative approach, you will drive performance, embed best practices, and deliver commercial excellence that supports the BBC's digital transformation and public service mission.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT- Lead the setup, negotiation, and strategic management of technology contracts with multiple third-party suppliers.
- Monitor supplier performance and benchmarks to ensure value-for-money and service quality.
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and resolve disputes, supporting BAU issue resolution.
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships with suppliers, stakeholders, and internal BBC departments.
- Align commercial arrangements with BBC policies and strategic objectives, ensuring robust governance and audit readiness.
- Offer expert commercial advice to stakeholders and ensure effective tracking of contractual objectives.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
- Proven success in managing complex supplier relationships.
- Experience in contract negotiation, compliance, and dispute resolution.
- Demonstrated ability to manage risk and deliver commercial outcomes in technology and/or media environments.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills.
- A collaborative, and innovative approach to commercial management.
DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED:
- Background in broadcasting or technology sector.
- Knowledge of broadcast, digital media and technology, and current global media trends.
- Experience in delivering change and transformation projects.
- Familiarity with public sector governance, audit standards, and procurement processes.
- Strong analytical skills for performance monitoring and value-for-money assessments.
