Role: Commercial Manager
Contract Length: 6 months
Location: Hybrid 40% - any of the organisation's location (most major cities) throughout UK
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to help drive delivery of a nationally significant infrastructure programme. The portfolio includes new builds, major refurbishments, and expansions across a diverse and complex estate.
You will ideally have experience working with NEC3/NEC4 or PPC2000 contracts, a track record of managing large-scale projects, and the confidence to influence stakeholders in complex, client-side environments.
Key Accountabilities
- Manage post-contract administration for construction and professional service contracts.
- Lead on variations, change control, issue resolution, and risk management.
- Provide expert commercial advice and support to stakeholders on strategy and contract management.
- Negotiate with suppliers to achieve best value while ensuring compliance with governance and policy.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with estates, operations, finance, and supply chain partners.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and innovative commercial solutions across the portfolio.
Key Criteria:
Essential:
- Proven experience in infrastructure, construction, or property environments.
- Strong background in procurement and/or contract management.
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders and manage supplier relationships effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, with success working both independently and collaboratively.
- Membership of a relevant professional body or degree in surveying, engineering, law, finance, or equivalent industry experience.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 or PPC2000 contracts.
- Client-side or regulated procurement experience.
- Experience managing projects of £20m+ in scale.
- Familiarity with procurement and file management systems (eg, Oracle, Bravo, 4Projects).
