Job Description
Commercial Gas Engineer - Central Belt - Salary up to £47,000 DOE

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Commercial Gas Engineer to join a well-established facilities management and building services team. This is an excellent opportunity to work across a varied portfolio of commercial properties, carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive repairs and minor installation works.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring building services are maintained to the highest standards, delivering a professional service while maintaining compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • - Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on commercial gas systems.
  • - Service, maintain and repair commercial boilers, heating systems and associated plant equipment.
  • - Diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs to minimise downtime.
  • - Complete minor installation and replacement works as required.
  • - Undertake basic plumbing and mechanical maintenance duties where required.
  • - Carry out inspections and ensure all work complies with current legislation and industry standards.
  • - Complete all required documentation accurately using electronic or paper-based systems.
  • - Liaise professionally with clients, site contacts and colleagues to provide excellent customer service.
  • - Participate in an on call rota where required.
  • - Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company policies and Health & Safety regulations.
About You:
  • - Previous experience working as a Commercial Gas Engineer within facilities management, building services or a similar environment.
  • - Experience servicing and maintaining commercial boilers and heating systems.
  • - Good fault finding and diagnostic skills.
  • - Basic plumbing and mechanical maintenance experience.
  • - A strong understanding of Health & Safety procedures.
  • - Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • - The ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively.
  • - A full UK driving licence.
  • - F Gas certification.
  • - 18th Edition.
  • - Electrical knowledge or additional building services experience.
  • - Experience working within schools, healthcare, retail or commercial buildings.
