About the role

This newly created Commercial Director role is pivotal to Kaplan Assessments' strategic growth, with a particular focus on expanding its international footprint in high potential markets such as MENA.

Reporting to the Managing Director and working in partnership with the Client Solutions Director, who has a similar focus on the UK market, the postholder will lead the development and execution of commercial strategies that drive revenue, enhance brand visibility, and position Kaplan as a trusted partner in professional assessment.

Responsibilities include identifying and securing new business opportunities, cultivating senior level relationships, and shaping market propositions that align with government priorities and sector needs. The role demands close collaboration with central teams and senior leaders across the organisation to ensure commercial initiatives complement broader organisational goals. As growth accelerates, the Director will be responsible for building and leading a high performing team, embedding a culture of innovation, accountability, and impact.

Who we are looking for

As a Commercial Director, you will be a commercially astute, internationally experienced leader with a deep understanding of assessment principles and methodologies.

You will bring a proven track record of securing high value contracts and driving strategic growth across both UK and international markets, particularly in regions such as MENA, where Kaplan has existing business and significant opportunity for expansion. With strong roots in the awarding organisation or professional assessment sector, you will possess a well established network of senior contacts and demonstrate fluency in navigating regulatory and professional body environments.

You will be adept at shaping go to market strategies, elevating brand presence, and unlocking new revenue streams in high stakes assessments. As growth accelerates, you will be responsible for building and leading a high performing team, while working collaboratively with central resources and senior leadership across the organisation to align commercial ambitions with broader organisational priorities.
