About

Cois Sionna Desmond Credit Union is a not for profit, community-based credit union, proudly supporting its 59,000 members across its 15-branch network, located throughout Limerick City and County and the North Kerry region.

The Role

We are delighted to invite applications for the position of Team Lead. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and experienced individual to play a key leadership role in delivering exceptional member service and operational excellence across a number of branches.

This is a full-time, permanent position (37.5 hours per week, inclusive of Saturdays) based in Newcastle West. The role carries responsibility for a number of branches within the region and requires flexibility to travel and work across the network.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management, performance, and oversight of the office's operations, ensuring consistent service standards, strong governance, and an excellent member experience across all locations.

The role combines:

  • Operational Leadership - Managing branch operations, cash handling, member services, and administrative processes
  • People Leadership - Leading, coaching, and developing teams across multiple locations
  • Risk & Compliance - Embedding a strong control environment and "first line of defence" culture
  • Service & Growth - Supporting member engagement, service improvements, and local business growth
Skills and Competency Requirements
  • A professional financial services qualification, such as a QFA, or a relevant Minimum Competency Qualification, or be open to working towards the same.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a customer facing, people management role, ideally within a credit union, financial services or regulated environment.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and training capability.
  • Communicate effectively and sensitively when liaising with members face to face, on the phone and through email.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and sensitively when liaising with members.
  • Promote a culture that reflects the credit union's values and encourages good performance and excellent service.
  • Positive drive and energy to get results and achieve KPI's.
  • Demonstrated administration and organisational skills, along with task prioritisation.
  • A problem solver, with the ability to handle escalations effectively.
  • Continuous improvement and focus on showing initiative in bringing improvements to the credit union.
  • Knowledge of Scion (or similar system) and Microsoft Office.
  • Full clean drivers license, with access to own transportation for inter-branch travel.
