You'll be responsible for the planning, design, anddelivery of coastal infrastructure and special projects, while alsocontributing to the City's long-termCoastalHazard Risk Management and Adaptation Planning(CHRMAP)strategy.

What You'll BeDoing

  • Lead the design and delivery of coastal infrastructure suchas steps, protective barriers, jetties, of shore reefs, andseawalls.
  • Manage sand nourishment projects at Mettams Beach andWaterman's Bay.
  • Collaborate with theNorthern Beaches Alliancetomonitor shoreline changes and analyse coastal data.
  • Provide technical advice and guidance to internalstakeholders on the environmental impacts for events being runalong the coast
  • Manage and collaborate with government stakeholders on thedelivery and planning of our coastal projects
  • Prepare technical reports, Council reports and projectscope of works
  • Manage tenders, consultants, and contractors to ensureprojects meet scope, budget, and community expectations.
  • Assist with funding applications for coastal hazardassessments /adaptations and civil projects
  • Contribute to special projects
  • Support with advocacy for major projects
  • Engage with Councillors and community members onhigh-profile and coastal projects.

What You'llBring

We're looking for a qualified and experienced CoastalEngineering professional who's passionate about creatingsafe, healthy, and sustainable workplaces. You'll ideallybring:

  • A degree in Civil/Coastal Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Engineering experience in infrastructure design anddelivery.
  • Demonstrated experience in coastal project implementationand CHRMAP principles.
  • Strong project management and stakeholder engagementskills.
  • Strong influencing ability to drive the City'soutcomes
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, engineering standards,and local government processes.
  • A proactive, community-focused mindset with a passion forcoastal protection and innovative infrastructure works
