Job Description
Role: CNC Service Technician
Salary: Up to £40,000 depending on experience
Location: Maidenhead
We are seeking a skilled CNC Service Engineer to provide on-site service, maintenance, and repair of industrial machine tools. You will be responsible for ensuring our customers' CNC machinery operates efficiently and reliably, minimizing downtime, and providing technical expertise in troubleshooting and preventative maintenance.
This role is ideal for a hands on engineer with strong mechanical, electrical, and controls experience on milling, turning, and multi axis CNC machines.
Responsibilities- Provide on-site service, installation, maintenance, and repair of CNC machine tools
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control system faults
- Carry out preventative maintenance programs to maximize machine uptime
- Calibrate and align CNC machinery to ensure precision and quality standards
- Commission new equipment and provide customer training as required
- Maintain accurate service records, reports, and timesheets
- Support customers with technical guidance and operational advice
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations and company safety procedures
- Travel to customer sites as required within the assigned territory
- Participate in emergency call outs and overtime assignments when necessary
- Proven experience working with CNC machine tools, including milling and turning machines
- Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of electrical and control systems
- Knowledge of CNC controllers such as FANUC, Siemens, Heidenhain, or similar
- Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and manuals
- Experience with machine installation, commissioning, and alignment
- Strong problem solving and fault finding skills
- Excellent communication skills and customer facing experience
- Full driving license; willingness to travel regularly
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
