Elevation Recruitment Group are working on behalf of a Leeds-based engineering manufacturer to recruit a CNC Machinist to join their machining team. Shift Pattern: Day ShiftSalary: up to £36,000 DOE
Role Overview
The CNC Machinist will be responsible for the setting and operation of CNC milling and turning machines to manufacture precision components to tight tolerances. Working within a high-quality engineering environment, the role will involve producing components from a variety of materials while ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and production targets.
Responsibilities
- Set and operate CNC milling and turning machines to manufacture precision components
- Work to tight tolerances and detailed engineering drawings
- Edit CNC programmes using controls such as Heidenhain, Siemens, or Haas where required
- Carry out in-process inspection using various measuring equipment
- Ensure production targets and manufacturing deadlines are achieved
- Maintain high standards of quality and workmanship at all times
- Complete documentation to ensure full traceability of manufactured components
- Follow all health, safety and environmental procedures
- Carry out basic machine maintenance including coolant checks and pre-use inspections
- Work collaboratively with other departments to support manufacturing requirements
Requirements
- Apprentice trained in a relevant engineering or machining discipline
- Experience setting and operating CNC milling and/or turning machines
- Competent using Heidenhain or Haas control systems
- Ability to manufacture components from engineering drawings
- Experience machining materials such as carbon steel and stainless steel
- Experience machining exotic materials
- CNC programme editing (Heidenhain or G-code)
