Mandarin Oriental Palace, Luzern is an iconic Belle Époque landmark, offering a premier luxury experience. The hotel comprises 136 rooms and suites, four restaurants, one bar together with a variety of meeting facilities, a Spa and a fitness room.
Mandarin Oriental Savoy, Zurich is located in the heart of the Old Town, in the main business center, close to the city's leisure attractions and just a short walk from the shores of Lake Zurich. The Mandarin Oriental Savoy, Zurich has 80 guest rooms and suites and three dining venues, including an all-day dining restaurant, a specialty restaurant and a lobby lounge.
About the job
Based at the Mandarin Oriental Palace, Luzern and Mandarin Oriental Savoy, Zurich the Cluster Director of Commercial Strategy is responsible for developing, executing, and continuously evolving the commercial strategy across both hotels. This includes Sales (Groups & Transient), Revenue Management (in close cooperation with the Cluster Director of Revenue), Reservations, Catering & Events and Partnership-driven Marketing alignment. The role ensures all commercial decisions support premium market positioning, maximize topline revenue performance, and align with Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group global commercial strategy.

THE ROLEAs Cluster Director of Commercial Strategy you will be responsible for the following duties:

Lead, oversee and evolve the commercial performance strategy for both properties to maximise revenue, market penetration and profitability.

Ensure competitive positioning across segments through pricing strategy, revenue management collaboration and distribution optimisation.

Drive business forecasting and commercial performance reviews with clarity, analytical discipline and strategic alignment.

Monitor global, regional and local performance trends ensuring timely adjustments to strategy and market approach.

Align all commercial functions across both hotels ensuring synergy, clarity of ownership and high-performance collaboration.

Oversee business development agenda across Switzerland, key feeder markets and global corporate/consortia channels.

Strengthen relationships with top strategic accounts, develop long-cycle growth pipelines and expand commercial partnerships.

Attending selected fairs, roadshows and workshops to promote sales and the overall image of both hotels.

Build a high-performance culture driven by accountability, collaboration, data-based decision making and brand alignment.

YOUR BENEFITSAs Cluster Director of Commercial Strategy, we expect from you:

Degree or Diploma in Hospitality Management or Business Administration.

Minimum 5-7 years of sales leadership experience in the luxury hospitality sector, preferably within international brands.

Proven ability to lead and inspire a sales team, with a hands-on approach and strategic mindset.

Strong business development, negotiation, and key account management skills.
-
Excellent communication and presentation skills in English and German; additional languages are highly valued.

In-depth knowledge of the MICE, Corporate, and Leisure segments, especially within the luxury and lifestyle market.

Familiarity with hotel systems, including Delphi, Opera, Microsoft Office, and CRM tools.

High level of financial and analytical acumen, with the ability to create forecasts and interpret data.

Ability to travel as necessary to represent the hotels and Mandarin Oriental in key markets.
