Clinical/Counselling Psychologist - Prison Healthcare

The Prison Psychological Therapies Service in NHS Forth Valley is looking for a clinical/counselling psychologist to join the NHS Forth Valley Prison Healthcare team. This will involve providing highly specialised clinical interventions and assessments for mental health difficulties to complex individuals and sharing formulations to inform wider team management of patients. It is expected that the post holder will contribute to the training of staff working with the above client group in the context of health, social work and the Scottish Prison Service. There are opportunities to provide supervision, reflective practice and to contribute to multi-disciplinary working across three national prisons.
The post will be based between HMP & YOI Stirling, HMP Glenochil and HMP & YOI Polmont.
Responsibilities- Provide highly specialised clinical interventions and assessments for mental health difficulties in complex individuals and share formulations to inform wider team management of patients.
- Contribute to staff training for the above client group in health, social work and the Scottish Prison Service.
- Offer supervision and reflective practice opportunities and contribute to multi-disciplinary working across three national prisons.
- Travel across the service delivery area as required.
- Permanent position for a clinical/counselling psychologist within the NHS.
- Ability and willingness to travel throughout the area of service delivery is essential.
