- Level 5 Diploma in Health and Social Care (or willingness to work towards it)

Kenway Court is a residential, community focused care home in Southend on Sea. The service supports people with intellectual and physical disabilities. People who live at Kenway Court have wide individual choice, with active support from staff. Our service offers nursing support to those with complex needs.

Job responsibilitiesAs the Registered Manager, you will be responsible for the overall management and operation of the care home, ensuring the highest standards of care and compliance with all relevant legislation. You will lead and manage a team to provide safe, compassionate, and person centred care to adults in a residential setting. Your key focus will be to ensure the wellbeing of the people we support while promoting independence, dignity, and respect.
- Ensuring that we are providing good or outstanding support to all of the people we support.
- Taking responsibility for understanding and complying with statutory and legal requirements.
- Ensuring that the service follows Shaftesbury policy and procedures and to fully investigate if this is not the case and actively seek to embed any learning.
- Undertaking or assigning key self assessment audits to ensure compliance with the good governance calendar.
- Ensuring you monitor the quality of records by using sampling methods.
- Keeping an overview on the KPIs for the service to ensure it is performing inline with Shaftesbury's expectations.
- Acting as the Local Safeguarding Lead.
- Ensuring the rotas are monitored to avoid over or under delivering support in line with the budget.
- Owning the management accounts and having a good working knowledge of what sits behind the account and seeking to explore and resolve variances.
- Ensuring that when care needs change they are re assessed and new contracts are put in place to meet people's needs.
- Undertaking an annual service improvement plan to understand the status of the service and outlining its future direction of travel with guidance from the relevant director.
- Monitoring operating systems in accordance with policies and procedures and ensuring these are being audited on a regular basis.
- Supporting the organisation to deliver its objectives by reaching out to the wider community.
- Providing direct supervision to Service Delivery Leaders and Team Leaders.
- Providing coaching and mentoring of Service Delivery Leaders and Team Leaders.
- Ensuring that you work in a way that supports the wellbeing of the staff team.
- Chairing staff meetings.
- Identifying staff training needs and planning to meet these, in conjunction with the Service Delivery Leaders and Team Leaders.
- Ensuring staff personal development is ongoing to meet the needs of the people we support.
- Promoting Shaftesbury values.
- Undertaking reports and when required.
- Undertaking other duties as required.
- Undertaking on call as required.
- Promoting the organisation in a positive manner.
- Maintaining effective communication channels with all stakeholders internal and external.
- Valid NMC PIN and CQC registration
- Level 5 Diploma in Health and Social Care (or willingness to work towards it)
