Are you an experienced and resilient Psychological Therapist or Psychologist, who can be instrumental in the strategic vision and clinical delivery of therapy within NHS talking therapies.
If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join a well established, dynamic team in Bolton. Delivering therapy to the population of Bolton.
We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and experienced clinician to support the therapy delivery within the step 3 + team of Bolton's NHS talking therapy service.
The successful candidate will be enthusiastic and appreciative of the challenges of working in a NHS talking therapies services. You will be committed to team working, have excellent relationship building skills and be capable of managing varied work demands.
You would be joining a large team in Bolton which is part of the Greater Manchester mental health trust, where there are excellent opportunities.
Main duties of the jobAs a Psychologist/ Psychological Therapist in our talking therapies service, you will be responsible for offering high quality assessment and brief interventions to treat those experiencing common mental health disorders.
This is an exciting, varied role with opportunity for, direct clinical work, consultation, supervision of other practitioners, facilitation of reflective practice and contributing to team innovation and development.
You will have plenty of scope and support to develop your own practice, whilst supporting the team in balancing the challenges of providing flexible high-quality services, in a way that delivers effective access and meets the expectations of patients, carers and the public.

Person Specification Qualifications- Doctoral or Masters Degree or equivalent experience/qualification in clinical psychology or any other relevant psychological therapy.
- Further post-qualification specialist training research or study, conferring advanced theoretical and practical knowledge within a specialist field of psychological therapy.
- Additional further training and qualifications in a range of therapeutic models (e.g. CBT, IPT, CAT) and in the use of specific psychometric and/or neuropsychological assessment tools.
- Completion of appropriate supervision training.
- Proven post-qualification experience as a psychological therapist within the NHS with at least 2 therapy modalities
- Experience working with a wide variety of client groups, across the whole life course and full range of settings including primary care, community, inpatients and acute care settings, and with expert knowledge in common mental health difficulties
- Experience of exercising full clinical responsibility for psychological assessment and intervention and evaluation with a range of common, acute and complex mental health needs
- Experience in teaching and training and qualified psychological therapist and of non-psychology staff.
- Experience of the application of psychological therapy in diverse cultural and ethnic contexts.
- Experience of service development and contribution to enhancing service practice
- Thorough understanding of phenomenology and theoretical models of complex co-morbid common mental health disorders
- Understanding of the national guidance and policy directives in relation to the development and delivery of psychological therapies for common mental health disorders.
- Ability to manage complex case loads, workload pressures alongside balancing on professional development.
- There is a requirement to travel mainly within the Bolton area in order to attend clinics and an occasional requirement to travel across the wide footprint of the Trust to attend meetings and events relevant to the role.
- Flexible working to include evening work, both face to face and remote working.
