Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a staff bank 8a Principal Clinical Psychologist to join Neuropsychology within NHS Highland. You will work clinically as part of our Neuropsychology team and associated multidisciplinary teams; but also autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of local and Board policies and procedures. You will play a vital role in service improvement, putting patients and their families at the centre of service delivery.

Our team provides specialist Clinical Neuropsychology services to adults within Neurology and Neurorehabilitation services living within the North Highland Health and Social Care Partnership region. We work across all sectors of neuropsychology service provision. As part of our team you will provide highly specialist neuropsychological assessment, treatment and rehabilitation, advice and consultation on neuropsychological care; involving inpatient and outpatient, remote and clinic-based, individual and group clinical care. Roles in providing clinical supervision, consultation, training staff and group delivery are also central to the role. Clinical experience in neuropsychology service delivery, delivering remote clinical interventions and cognitive assessments would be beneficial. You will also support the Head of Neuropsychology in strategic development of services across acute and rehabilitation pathways.

The wider Psychology department within NHS Highland is a supportive, dynamic and developing department, providing services across the region. The nature of the health board area requires us to be innovative and continually adapt to change. This post will involve a hybrid approach, with both remote working and travel to clinics and meetings as required to meet the needs of the service. Applications are welcomed from those who want to work flexibly, with a hybrid model of remote and on-site working requirements.

Towns and cities offer museums, shopping, cinemas and theatres as well as harbours, busy bars and restaurants. The Highlands are accessible with good transport links via car, air, bus or train.
