Clinical Pharmacist (Bank)

Huddersfield Private Hospital - Bank Shifts - Salary: Up to £28.00 per hour (depending on level of experience, training and qualification)

We have an opportunity for a Clinical Pharmacist to join their team in the Pharmacy Department.

This is a bank role working on an "as and when required" basis, filling staffing shortfalls during busy periods and covering for staff on leave or absence.

Duties of this role include:
  • Conduct medication reviews for inpatients and outpatients, identifying interactions, contraindications, and opportunities for medicines optimisation.
  • Provide tailored advice to patients on their treatment plans, including side effects, compliance, and lifestyle considerations.
  • Support safe prescribing through reconciliation, clinical screening, and dose adjustment.
  • Review and authorise prescriptions in line with clinical guidelines, formulary restrictions, and regulatory requirements.
  • Promote safe and cost effective use of medicines by supporting adherence to local and national policies.
  • Collaborate with procurement, stock control, and pharmacy technicians to ensure medicine availability and supply continuity.
  • Monitor and report medication incidents, near misses, and adverse drug reactions in line with hospital protocols and MHRA guidance.
Applicants should meet the following criteria:
  • A degree in Pharmacy (MPharm, BSc or BPharm).
  • GPhC registration as a Pharmacist.
  • Previous experience in a clinical hospital pharmacy role.
  • Strong knowledge of therapeutics, clinical guidelines, and pharmaceutical legislation.
  • Excellent communication and clinical decision making skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Confident using electronic prescribing and medication administration systems (e.g., EPMA).
