We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated pharmacist with an interest in Oncology and/or Haematology to join our Pharmacy Cancer team in Swansea Bay University Health Board.
Main duties of the jobYou will work with other cancer services pharmacists to deliver clinical pharmacy services to the Cancer Services Directorate. This will include the clinical screening of Systemic Anti Cancer Therapies (SACT) prescriptions on the Chemocare prescribing system, contributing to the TPN ward service by reviewing individual patients' nutritional requirements and working within the multidisciplinary team to tailor treatment plans.
Additionally, you will provide cover in our licensed aseptic unit, which supports clinical pharmacy services by providing SACT and CIVAS. Duties include supervision and release of individually prepared and batch manufactured medicines.
About the teamSingleton Hospital is a Cancer Centre providing services to the population of South West Wales. The services include a Radiotherapy Department, Oncology and Haematology Chemotherapy day units, a Bone Marrow Transplant Unit and a dedicated Oncology/Hematology ward.
Welsh language requirementThe ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Person Specification- Advanced pharmaceutical care knowledge and skills.
- Evidence of promotion and evaluation of best practice.
- Demonstrates a commitment to self study and self development.
- Evidence of working with consultants and the multidisciplinary team at ward and pharmacy level.
- IT literate. Able to use the relevant IT systems within the NHS, and to learn and use new systems as they become available.
- Able to work autonomously, and work effectively as part of a team.
- Able to manage difficult and ambiguous problems.
- Post registration experience in hospital clinical pharmacy at Band 6 or above.
- Experience of working in a range of clinical specialities.
- Professionally accountable for own actions.
- Experience of working in Technical Services (Aseptics Services).
- Experience of working with electronic discharge systems.
- Masters Degree MPharm.
- Post Graduate MSc/Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent.
- Current and continued registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
- Accredited tutor for Cardiff University MSc in Clinical Pharmacy.
