Job DescriptionWe are looking for Clinical Nurse Manager -Nurse Practice Development to our hospital in Dublin.
Permanent, Full-time - 37.5 hours per week
Responsibilities- Promote evidence-based nursing practices and support the integration of the Careful Nursing Philosophy into daily clinical care.
- Lead and participate in clinical audits, quality improvement projects, and the implementation of corrective action plans.
- Contribute to the development, review, and implementation of nursing policies, procedures, and clinical guidelines.
- Monitor nursing quality metrics, analyse outcomes, and support continuous performance improvement initiatives.
- Assist in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system while acting as a Superuser liaison between nursing staff and the digital team.
- Identify staff learning needs and deliver education programmes through workshops, online learning, clinical skills sessions, and in-service training.
- Support staff development through mentorship, preceptorship, and clinical training in areas such as IV medication management, venepuncture, cannulation, and CVAD care.
- Provide professional leadership in nursing practice development, encourage innovation, and foster a culture of continuous learning and staff engagement.
- Ensure compliance with national standards and accreditation requirements including HIQA, JCI, NMBI, and JAG through effective governance and quality monitoring.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams while promoting dignity, confidentiality, teamwork, and collaborative practice.
- Practice in line with the Code of Professional Conduct and Ethics for Registered Nurses and Midwives, including NMBI professional guidance and scope of practice standards.
- Maintain professional competence through continuous learning, education, and ongoing professional development activities.
- Contribute to service planning, evaluation, and the ongoing development of nursing practices and standards.
- Support the advancement and expansion of nursing scope of practice within the clinical setting.
- Promote the nursing profession through active participation in national conferences, professional meetings, and healthcare initiatives.
- Demonstrate current clinical knowledge and apply evidence-based practice to enhance patient care and service quality.
- Support staff learning and development by providing mentorship, guidance, and constructive feedback.
- Provide leadership by fostering teamwork, collaboration, and positive engagement with multidisciplinary stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities for service improvement through effective use of audits, data analysis, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrate strong organisational, communication, interpersonal, influencing, and negotiation skills while effectively managing workload and priorities.
