We are hiring a Clinical Nurse Manager for one of the best Nursing Homes in Co Kildare who is passionate about improving the quality of life of their residents and places a strong importance on social, physical, and mental stimulation.

Responsibilities

Support the Person in Charge/Unit Manager in providing clinical and professional leadership to the care team while delivering high quality direct resident care.

Ensure that care provided to residents and their families aligns with the Nursing Home's mission, vision, values, and strategic objectives.

Promote a resident centred approach by recognising each resident as an individual and prioritising their rights, needs, preferences, and comfort.

Develop positive and trusting relationships with residents to support autonomy, informed choice, and evidence based decision making.

Maintain the highest standards of resident safety, dignity, privacy, and quality of care at all times.

Encourage and support residents in maximising their independence and ability to make personal choices regarding their care and daily lives.

Facilitate resident involvement in care planning and decision making processes whenever possible.

Foster an inclusive and respectful environment that values diversity and respects each resident's age, gender, sexual orientation, disability, family status, civil status, race, religion, ethnicity, and cultural background.

Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualised care plans in collaboration with residents, families, and the multidisciplinary team.

Work closely with healthcare professionals and care staff to ensure coordinated, holistic, and person centred care delivery.

Monitor and maintain clinical standards, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, organisational policies, and best practice guidelines.

Act as a role model and mentor to nursing and care staff, promoting excellence in clinical practice and continuous professional development.

Requirements
  • Be registered, or eligible for registration, as a General Nurse or Psychiatric Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to continuous professional development (CPD).
  • Hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Gerontology (desirable).
  • Possess a management qualification or have completed relevant management training (desirable).
  • Have experience working within Gerontology, Psycho Geriatric Nursing, Psychiatry, or Adult Disability Services.
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the ageing process and the care needs of older adults.
  • Possess strong IT skills and proficiency in relevant clinical and administrative systems.
  • Have a minimum of two years' post registration experience, including experience at Senior Staff Nurse or Clinical Nurse Manager (CNM) level.
  • Exhibit excellent leadership, communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Be capable of leading and supporting multidisciplinary teams to deliver high quality, person centred care.
  • A management qualification or management course is advantageous but not essential.
