The Occupational Health Service at DBTH is looking for a driven person with a proven record of success in leading and delivering Occupational Health Services. The Clinical Nurse Manager will lead and develop the Occupational Health Service.
The Occupational Health Service provides a confidential, preventative, and advisory health service for employees. The aim is to ensure that employees are fit to work and not harmed by the work they undertake. We have two departments at the Trust: one at Doncaster Royal Infirmary and one at Bassetlaw Hospital - the role will involve some cross site working.
Main duties of the job Leadership and ManagementProvide strong clinical and professional leadership, articulating and promoting a clear vision for a high quality Occupational Health service.
Act as a specialist resource and professional role model for the Occupational Health team and wider organisation.
Lead service development, process redesign, and strategic initiatives in partnership with the Head of Occupational Health to support continuous improvement and service excellence.
Clinical and Professional PracticeManage complex Occupational Health casework, practising autonomously as a specialist clinician.
Provide expert advice on rehabilitation, workplace risk assessment, and reasonable adjustments to support employee health and wellbeing.
Oversee and support the effective delivery of health surveillance, vaccination, and immunisation programmes in line with regulatory and organisational requirements.

Person Specification Qualifications & Training- Registered Nurse (part 1 on the NMC Register)
- Post registration qualification in Occupational Health supported by clinical practice
- Recognised qualification in Leadership & Management
- Knowledge & experience of leading and managing an Occupational Health Service & team
- Experience at a senior level in management of people and finance budgets (pay + non pay) + contracts
- Significant management experience in a large, complex NHS organisation
- Experience of analysing complex data, issues and creating solutions and delivering on plans
- Experience in leading and delivering work streams and projects across a complex organisation with other stakeholders
- Experience in managing specialist OH digital health record systems such as OPAS2
- Experience in NHS service tendering and procurement practices
- Experienced & competent in using Microsoft Office software
- Knowledge of relevant legislations, for example, Health & Safety at Work Act and Working Time Directive.
- Knowledge and application of the NHS Occupational Health immunisation programmes
- Knowledge of current occupational health practices, guidelines and national agenda of occupational health and the wider NHS plan
- Application of database management
- Able to communicate with people at all levels inside and outside of the organisation
- Experience and ability to handle emotive situations effectively and sensitively and in the strictest confidence
- Experience of facilitating and supporting change
- Self motivated, works without supervision and has the ability to support others
