Job Description

We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Legal Secretary to join our highly regarded Clinical Negligence Department at Wake Smith Solicitors.

As a Clinical Negligence Legal Secretary, you will play a vital role in supporting the Head of Department and the wider team of fee earners, working on a varied and complex caseload of clinical negligence matters. This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive and busy team delivering high-quality legal services in a specialist area of law.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing high-quality secretarial and administrative support, including audio and copy typing of legal documents and correspondence
  • Managing diaries, scheduling appointments, and assisting with file opening and closing proceduresli>
  • Producing and preparing Court documents and electronic bundles
  • Liaising with clients and professionals via telephone and email
  • Supporting the completion of forms and case management processes, including invoicing and billing
  • Assisting with audit preparation for Legal Aid and ATE providers
Requirements:
  • At least 2 years' experience as a legal secretary, ideally within Clinical Negligence, Personal Injury, or a related litigation area
  • Experience working with an electronic case management system - a working knowledge of the Partner for Windows case management system would be a distinct advantage
  • Strong understanding of Clinical Negligence case funding (ATE/BTE). Knowledge and understanding of Legal Aid funding/CCMS would be advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a proactive and professional approach
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organisation, and time management skills
