Overview

Are you an experienced veterinary professional ready to take the next step in your career? A Clinical Director is sought in Leicestershire to lead the Hospital team, bringing passion, purpose, and clinical excellence to every aspect of the role. This is a full-time, permanent position.

The Hospital operates on a 40-hour week across four days, with one in four Saturdays. The salary is up to £90,000 per annum, dependent on experience. The role involves 80% clinical work and 20% non-clinical responsibilities, with focus on the Hospital site.

You will be part of a supportive and forward-thinking environment with a team of 29 vets, including certificate holders in ophthalmology, orthopaedics, soft tissue surgery, and emergency critical care. The Hospital features state-of-the-art facilities including an in-house CT scanner, advanced dental suites with X-ray, video endoscopy, ASIF kit, TPLO/TTA/Tightrope systems, arthroscopy, and a comprehensive ophthalmology setup. It holds Cat-Friendly Status and a Gold Award. The practice is an approved nurse training centre and is committed to professional development and ongoing study for certificates and specialist interests.

Located in Leicester, the largest city in the East Midlands, the area offers city conveniences with countryside charm and good travel links.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the Hospital team and maintain high clinical standards to ensure the continued delivery of exceptional patient care.
  • Split time: 80% clinical work and 20% non-clinical responsibilities, with duties concentrated on the Hospital site.
  • Engage in regular clinical discussions and monthly case reviews to promote shared learning and high-quality outcomes.
Qualifications
  • Several years of veterinary experience with proven leadership ability.
  • Confidence in all aspects of primary care and a passion for mentoring and developing others.
