Clinical Fellow in Gastroenterology and Endoscopy

It is expected that the post holder will pursue subspecialty training in EUS, advanced lower GI (including IBD) or Upper GI endoscopy; other interests will also be considered.

The rota includes other Gastroenterology and Endoscopy resident doctors and Fellows.

Each post holder will have an Educational Supervisor and be provided with career advice as well as a study leave budget.

This position provides a year of subspecialty training in endoscopy, with the possibility of an additional year for selected candidates. The appointee will work alongside other endoscopy fellows and a dynamic gastroenterology department consisting of 22 consultant gastroenterologists, a staff specialist, 6 registrars, IMTs and foundation doctors. The role is also open to surgical trainees who would then contribute to the upper GI surgical service.

Person Specification Experience
  • A minimum of 4 months NHS experience in Gastroenterology
  • Evidence of involvement in audit & research projects
Qualifications
  • GMC Registration with Licence to Practice
  • Completion of foundation training or equivalent
  • Current certification in ALS
  • Evidence of participation in evidence based medicine, e.g journal clubs and presentations.
