Job Description
Clinical Fellow in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine University Hospital Monklands

University Hospital Monklands (UHM) is looking for an experienced clinical fellow to join its existing team of anaesthetists and the wider multi disciplinary team.

The Anaesthetics Department is part of the Surgical & Critical Care Directorate, which provides services within a 7 theatre main operating suite and a stand alone 2 theatre day unit. It has a 10 bed Level II/III ICU, normally admitting approximately 600 patients per year and 6 Level I surgical beds, admitting over 200 patients per year.

The successful applicant will contribute to the provision of general anaesthesia within the main theatre and day surgery unit, as well as the delivery of critical care, including out of hours work. The balance between critical care and anaesthesia will depend on the successful candidate's preferences and service need. Dedicated time will be available to develop a special interest.

Individuals who have trained according to the UK process will be supported in this role. There will be a robust induction period that will help integrate new staff, extending to a two week softer landing period for successful candidates, dependent on experience.

Accommodation may be available for those residing outside the NHS Lanarkshire area for an initial period of 3 months to facilitate relocation to the area.

University Hospital Monklands is a District General Hospital that hosts all major ENT, head and neck, and urology cases for NHS Lanarkshire, as well as general surgery, vascular access, OMFS and dental services.
