Job Description
Overview

My client is seeking an experienced, MRCVS registered Equine and Farm Clinical Director to lead its established team across Dundee, Tayside, Angus and Fife. This position offers a unique combination of clinical work and strategic oversight, allowing the successful candidate to remain hands on while influencing the direction and future development of the equine and farm services.

Supported by a strong and experienced practice structure, the role also provides the freedom to implement new ideas and lead with confidence. The opportunity is ideally suited to a veterinary professional with a strong interest in equine and farm animal medicine who is ready to progress into a senior leadership role. It is designed for someone who values autonomy, thrives with responsibility, and is motivated by the chance to shape and develop a successful department while continuing to grow professionally.

Responsibilities
  • Guide and mentor a small team of equine and farm veterinarians, maintaining high clinical standards.
  • Drive continued growth of the department through strategic planning and service expansion.
  • Collaborate closely with small animal clinical directors and the practice manager to ensure a cohesive and forward thinking approach across the practice.
  • Encourage innovation and provide scope to expand and enhance the services offered.
Benefits
  • Competitive salary ranging from £62,500 to £75,000, dependent on experience.
  • Comprehensive benefits package including a practice vehicle (if required), paid professional fees and memberships, discounts and wellbeing benefits.
  • Generous annual leave, additional time off for birthdays, and flexibility where possible.
  • Professional development encouraged through a dedicated CPD allowance, funded training opportunities and a structured leadership development pathway.
Location

The role is based in Dundee, a vibrant coastal city offering a blend of cultural attractions, affordability, and excellent transport connections. The surrounding Tayside region provides access to a wide variety of outdoor activities, from beaches and countryside to mountains and historic towns, making it an appealing location for both work and leisure.
