About the role

Reporting to the General Manager, the Deputy Manager plays a key leadership role in ensuring exceptional standards of clinical care and governance across the home. This position is responsible for ensuring clinical care delivery meets all statutory and regulatory requirements, aligns with professional codes of conduct, and reflects company policies and procedures.

The Deputy Manager will provide strong clinical leadership and guidance to the multidisciplinary team, promoting best practice across all areas of the home. With a focus on relationship-centred care, high-quality clinical practice, and specialist dementia care, the role supports the delivery of safe, compassionate, and person-focused care for every resident.

Salary:
Up to £58,000 per annum depending on experience.

Shift Pattern:
40 hours per week, worked on a rota basis between Monday to Sunday.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory and best practice guidelines ensuring all risks are proactively managed and issues identified, investigated and resolved.
  • Ensure the delivery of quality care continually assessing our residents' needs and wishes, developing the service to enhance their quality of life.
  • Promote high standards of care for your team, actively seeking ways to improve levels of service.
  • Take a leadership role for the team, ensuring all staff are supervised appropriately and rotas are in place to enable the smooth, efficient running of the business.
  • Be responsible for supervising staff, allocating work, encouraging staff development and ensuring Athena policies are followed.

Training, Skills & Experience Required:

  • Experience in a management or leadership role within a care home.
  • Registered Nurse with a valid NMC Pin.
  • Proven track record for leading, empowering, supporting & motivating a team.
  • Proven experience of delivering quality care and achieving financial targets.
  • Good understanding of clinical governance and CQC regulatory framework.
