Summary: To be the Lead X-ray / Lab tech / Medical Assistant and provide essential x-ray, medical assistant and lab functions of both lab and x-ray including key technical staffing support for the team. The lead Tech will provide key experience and technical knowledge. In addition the Lead Tech will provide information for diagnosis , treatment and prevention of disease by conducting medical laboratory tests, procedure and analysis with little or not supervision. The Lead Tech job includes preparing the sample for examination, using automated equipment and specialized instrumentation, performing numerous complicated tests simultaneously and accurately interpreting the results in a timely manner in order to enable the physician to utilize the data when making treatment decision. This includes waived laboratory testing and preparation for sending blood to a reference lab. The lead tech will perform all the duties in x-ray to fill in when the main tech is gone maintaining all the rules and regulations required for this position and EKG's. The Lead Tech will perform all duties of a Medical Assistant including blood pressure, rooming patient's drug screens, front desk check in, appointments and referrals. The Lead X-ray/ Lab/ Medical Assistant Tech will perform other duties as required in the clinic setting including nursing support, lab and x-ray support and front desk support in the shared clinic setting.
Other information: State of Arkansas x-ray license with preferred five years experience in x-ray. Must meet criteria for limited licensed Technologists or Licensed Technologist license or Radiology Technologist License or is eligible to take the Limited Scope Examination. Must keep license current and attend any required continuing education. Lab experience to meet CLIA Moderate Complexity requirements including minimum of high school diploma or equivalent and have documentation of training appropriate for the testing performed prior to analyzing patient specimens. Such training must ensure that the individual has: the skills required for proper specimen collection, including patient preparation, if applicable, labeling, handling, preservation or fixation, processing of preparation, transportation and storage of specimens. The skills required for implementing all standard laboratory procedures. The skills required for performing each test method and for proper instrument use. The skills required for performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and calibration procedures related to each test performed. The skills required to have a working of reagent stability and storage. The skills required to implement quality control policies and procedures of the laboratory. Must possess awareness of the factors that influence test results and the skills required to assess and verify the validity of patient test results through the evaluation of quality control sample values prior to reporting patient test results. Must be able to Multitask and have good communication skills and be detailed oriented. Medical Assistant license or Medical Assistant experience.
This job will be authorized80.00 hours bi-weekly.
