Job Description
Clinic Administrator

We are looking for a motivated and organised individual to join our Operational Support team. This vital role supports the smooth running of outpatient services and ensures high standards of data quality and customer service.

Job responsibilities
  • Manage outpatient clinic diaries using the Patient Administration System (PAS).
  • Create, modify and cancel clinics in line with agreed guidelines.
  • Re book and reschedule patients while maintaining access standards and targets.
  • Coordinate clinic templates and support cancellations and re booking activity.
  • Liaise confidently with operational teams, managers and clinical staff.
  • Maintain accurate patient data and handle enquiries with professionalism, empathy and discretion.
  • Provide cross cover and support to colleagues during annual leave, sickness or periods of high demand.
  • Assist with other tasks to support the effective running of the department.
  • Contribute flexibly across a range of administrative tasks within the department.
Qualifications Education, qualifications & training
  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent in English and Maths.
Knowledge & experience
  • Clerical experience within the last 3 years.
  • Experience of working with computer systems, including Microsoft Office in a working environment.
  • Customer service experience.
Desirable
  • Experience of working in a healthcare setting within the last 3 years.
Skills & abilities
  • Evidence of keyboard skills.
  • Capability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication skills with all members of the multi disciplinary team.
  • Ability to work within specified standards and timescales.
  • Understanding of confidentiality requirements.
  • Ability to respond quickly to changing priorities and organise own workload to meet deadlines.
  • Willingness to share knowledge and skills with new team members and provide day to day support.
  • Knowledge of PAS system and E referrals or other database systems.
