Job Description

Supervisor Job Title: Programme Coordinator

A chance for you to inspire children and their families to take action on climate change by reducing their carbon footprints and leading a more climate-friendly lifestyle. All resources and training are provided.

Main Duties

You will visit a primary school in London to deliver a workshop programme about climate change and carbon footprints, inspiring children to start taking action on climate change!

More specifically, this involves:

  1. Undertaking a short training to familiarize yourself with the workshop materials (this can be done remotely).
  2. Delivering a programme of five workshops, each lasting one hour, during school hours. The teacher will remain with you throughout.
  3. Supporting children with activities related to the workshop, such as producing display boards in their school.
  4. Providing feedback to ClimateEd about the effectiveness of the programme.
  5. Conducting a follow-up evaluation with workshop participants two months after the programme to assess how much CO2 they have saved.

We are currently recruiting volunteers across all London boroughs.

What will the volunteering role offer you and what will you learn?

You will play a vital role in inspiring and supporting the next generation to take action on climate change. Children in schools are eager to learn about climate change and want engaging, knowledgeable guides.

You will help children understand climate science, the impacts of a warming planet, and practical actions they and their families can take to live more sustainably. Additionally, this role offers a great opportunity to develop your public speaking, presentation, and teaching skills in a fun and stimulating environment.
