Job Description
Client Accountant 
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Property Accountant to join our team in Ireland. This role is responsible for delivering accurate financial reporting and maintaining strong accounting controls across a portfolio of properties. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting client reporting, financial analysis, and audit processes while working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare client reporting on a monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad hoc basis across various asset types.
- Produce monthly Trial Balance (TB) reporting packs, including preparation and posting of journal entries.
- Prepare quarterly and year end management company accounts and liaise with auditors.
- Perform bank reconciliations.
- Liaise with clients, tenants, property managers, and internal accounts teams as required.
- Support external auditors with service charge audits and complete audit schedules.
- Maintain accurate and well organised financial records and documentation.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly client reports, including Budget vs Actual analysis.
- Manage remittance of rent to property owners while ensuring strong internal controls.
- Maintain and update service charge year end and budget apportionments.
- Set up new properties in the system, including tenant and lease details.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns.
- Perform sinking fund reconciliations.
- Ensure a strong understanding and adherence to Property Management Accounts internal controls.
- Carry out additional duties as required.
- Minimum of two years' experience in a similar role, ideally within the property sector.
- Previous experience in residential or commercial property accounting is desirable.
- A third level qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Knowledge of property management systems (e.g., Yardi, Blockman) is an advantage.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
