About the Role

We are seeking to appoint a Clerk to the Governing Board to provide effective administrative and procedural support to our governors, helping them fulfil their statutory responsibilities and support the strategic leadership of the school.

As Clerk to Governors, you will play a vital role in supporting a governing body that shares this vision and is deeply committed to nurturing children's curiosity, creativity and enthusiasm for learning throughout their time at St Mark's.

The role involves:

  • Providing professional clerking support to the Governing Board and committees
  • Preparing and distributing agendas and papers
  • Taking accurate minutes and maintaining efficient records
  • Offering advice on governance procedures and statutory requirements

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is discreet, organised, available and reliable
  • Has excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Is able to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Is supportive of the Christian ethos and values of the school

Experience of school governance is desirable but not essential, as training and support can be provided.
