Clerical Officer - Radiology

We are looking for enthusiastic and organised Clerical Officers to join our busy Radiology Department at Ipswich Hospital.
We are looking for- Full time 37.5 hours per week or part time 30 hours per week, to be worked Monday - Friday between the hours of 08:00 - 17:00, subject to change or flex upon needs of the service.
- Full time 37.5 hours per week to be worked Monday - Sunday between the hours 08:00 - 20:00 on a rota basis, subject to change or flex upon needs of the service.
In this role you will assist in providing an efficient, high quality, reception, clerical and booking support service to our team and patients. You will be dealing with patients and the general public, so you must have a polite and empathetic telephone manner and be approachable. You will also need to have the ability to work under pressure with strict dealings and have excellent organisational skills. You will work on your own initiative with attention to detail and have confident and accurate IT skills.
Responsibilities- To rotate between reception and booking appointments as per the clerical rota, ensuring effective cover during times of sickness, absence and annual leave.
- To greet patients and visitors to the department, providing an efficient and courteous service, referring queries or concerns regarding patients and other visitors to the department.
- To book Outpatient/ GP appointments in urgency order, using EPIC. Ensure letters and any preparation are sent out in a timely manner.
- To communicate with patients and external departments via the telephone and face to face, scheduling appointments and answering general queries.
- To escalate any concerns regarding capacity to the Operational Co-ordinator, and expedite appointments and procedures to avoid breaching DMO1/ Cancer wait times.
- Ensure patients that have failed to attend or have cancelled their appointments are identified and re-booked according to departmental and trust policy.
