Job Introduction:

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Cleaner to join our team at Avon and Somerset Police

You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness across the site, while providing excellent customer service and supporting the wider team with general duties. Full training will be provided on cleaning equipment, products and site procedures.

What you'll do:

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness across designated areas.
• Complete daily, weekly, quarterly and annual cleaning tasks.
• Use cleaning equipment and chemicals safely following appropriate training.
• Report maintenance issues, hazards or faulty equipment promptly.
• Use appropriate safety signage, including wet floor signs.
• Keep cleaning stores and equipment clean, tidy and safely stored.
• Follow Health & Safety, COSHH and site-specific procedures.
• Maintain a clean and professional appearance and wear the required PPE.
• Provide excellent customer service and respond professionally to customer queries.
• Assist with moving furniture for meetings and deep cleaning when required.
• Complete relevant paperwork and attend team meetings.
• Provide additional cover for holidays and sickness when required.
• Secure your work area at the end of the working day.
• Carry out other reasonable cleaning and support duties as required.

What you bring: Essential:

• Ability to follow Health & Safety and quality procedures.
• Good attention to detail and pride in your work.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Commitment to providing excellent customer service.

Desirable:

• Previous cleaning experience.
• Ability to work independently and use your own initiative.
• Experience using commercial cleaning equipment.
