Purpose of RoleTo ensure effective and efficient operation of cleaning services within the Heriot Watt University Riccarton campus. Participate in day to day cleaning programmes within allocated zones to maintain facilities in a clean and hygienic condition. Contribute to delivery of excellent service to students, staff and visitors by keeping student accommodation, university offices, meeting rooms and lecture theatres clean, tidy and fit for use.
Key Duties & Responsibilities- Ensure all university buildings and accommodation are cleaned to a high standard following standard operating procedures.
- Use appropriate equipment and machinery, reporting any faults to the Cleaning Supervisor.
- Work within and ensure service level agreements are met.
- Support line management to deliver a flexible, efficient and professional service to all customers.
- Report repairs, faults and maintenance to the Cleaning Supervisor.
- Demonstrable ability to speak and understand English to follow verbal and written instructions and address customer/student queries.
- Well developed interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrable excellent customer service.
- Demonstrable ability to work quickly, flexibly and accurately in a pressured environment.
- Demonstrable professional and proactive approach.
- Attention to detail.
- Domestic or hotel cleaning experience.
- Experience operating relevant cleaning equipment.
