Language requirements
- Listening and speaking - Entry: Able to pronounce names of places and people correctly, follow instructions and understand simple conversations through Welsh and English on familiar matters, and respond to simple requests for information.
- Reading and understanding - Entry: Able to read and understand short and simple letters, e mails, leaflets, and signs in Welsh and English on familiar everyday issues, and convey them to someone else.
- Writing - Entry: Able to write a simple message requesting or giving information about familiar everyday issues in the workplace.
Purpose of the post
- Ensure that the people of Gwynedd are at the heart of everything we do.
- To undertake, as part of a team, the cleaning of designated areas within the school premises to ensure they are kept clean and hygienic.
Responsibility for functions
- Equipment: Operate powered equipment when appropriate and use washing, sweeping, vacuum cleaning, polishing, dusting, and toilet cleaning equipment.
- Main duties: Empty litter and recycling bins; polish and dust designated areas including furniture and fixtures; replenish toilet paper and soap in toilets and shower areas.
- Responsibility for self development: Continuously improve hygiene practices and cleaning techniques.
Compliance and governance
- Ensure compliance with Health and Safety rules under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and the Council's Health and Safety Policy.
- Operate within the Council's equal opportunities and equality policies.
- Manage information in accordance with the Council's information management guidelines and Data Protection legislation.
- Commit to reducing the Council's carbon emissions in line with the Carbon Management Plan.
- Undertake any other reasonable duty that corresponds to the salary and responsibility level of the job.
- Report any concern or suspicion that a child or vulnerable adult is being abused.
