We are seeking an ambitious, knowledgeable and inspiring Class Teacher with an additional responsibility as Maths Leader to head up our Mathematics provision across EYFS, KS1 and KS2. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced teacher or emerging leader who is passionate about maths, committed to raising standards, and ready to shape the next phase of our curriculum and pedagogy.

About the Role: Maths Leader

As Maths Leader, you will be a key member of the Extended Leadership Team, responsible for leading high quality teaching, learning and assessment in Maths and Numeracy across the school. The role involves:

Strategic Leadership
  • Advise SLT on raising standards in Maths and Numeracy across the school.
  • Lead the development, delivery and evaluation of Maths schemes of work.
  • Conduct audits of Numeracy across the curriculum and use findings to drive improvement.
  • Set whole school Numeracy priorities and monitor impact.
  • Standardise Numeracy terminology and expectations across the school.
  • Produce an annual Development Plan for Maths.
  • Contribute to staff recruitment and Trust wide collaboration.
Day-to-Day Leadership
  • Promote high expectations for Numeracy to staff, pupils and parents.
  • Lead Maths and Numeracy meetings and report outcomes to SLT.
  • Monitor teaching quality and pupil progress, providing feedback and support.
  • Contribute to staff professional development.
  • Motivate and support teaching and support staff to deliver excellent outcomes in their classes.
Teaching & Learning
  • Be an excellent classroom practitioner who models high quality teaching.
  • Deliver creative, engaging and challenging lessons that inspire pupils.
  • Support colleagues through coaching, mentoring and modelling best practice.
  • Ensure curriculum implementation and assessment are consistent and effective.
Assessment, Tracking & Planning
  • Lead the setting, administration and marking of assessments.
  • Use data (including online systems and internal tracking) to identify strengths, gaps and next steps.
  • Support staff in planning for progression and meeting individual pupil needs.
  • Develop materials and strategies to prepare pupils for internal and external assessments.
Communication & Partnerships
  • Build strong relationships with partner schools and the wider educational community.
  • Ensure parents and pupils are well informed about progress and expectations.
  • Contribute to Governors' meetings and lead parent information sessions when required.
