Rheumatology Service, Ashgrove House, ARIAn exciting new opportunity has arisen with the Rheumatology Service for an Advanced Practice Physiotherapist to work within the MDT to support the Rheumatology service and consultant team.
The post will be based within the Rheumatology Department at Ashgrove House on the Foresterhill Site.
We are looking for a physiotherapist with significant knowledge, skills and experience in the management of patients presenting with inflammatory and non-inflammatory Rheumatology and MSK conditions.
The successful candidate will work closely with other members of the MDT using advanced scope of practice and highly specialised clinical reasoning skills to make differential diagnosis, order appropriate investigations, formulate effective treatment plans and discharges/onward referrals.
The role will involve close collaboration with other 8a Physiotherapists working within NHS Grampian to drive service development and patient-centred care. It will be supported by the Rheumatology Consultant team and the Lead Physiotherapist.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for the day to day management of the Band 7, Band 6 and HCSW working within the Rheumatology Physiotherapy Department.
NHS Grampian physiotherapy teams cover the North East of Scotland serving a region from the Cairngorms to the North Sea including coastal Moray. The hospital site houses all clinical specialties with the exception of organ transplant and paediatric ITU. NHS Grampian provides healthcare for a population of 540,000 with around 40% living within Aberdeen and the remaining 60% in Aberdeenshire and Moray.

Additional Information for CandidatesAs from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
