Children's Worker

Amber Valley

This role is fixed-term to cover maternity leave.

This is a rewarding, community-based role where you will support children aged 0-16, who have experienced or been impacted by domestic abuse, helping them feel safe, valued, and empowered. About the Role

As a Children's Worker, you will:

  • Plan, organise and deliver engaging activities for children aged 0-16, supporting their development and wellbeing

  • Provide practical and emotional support to children and their parents

  • Develop and review individual support plans, tailored to each child's needs

  • Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver a high-quality service

  • Maintain accurate records in line with safeguarding and compliance standards

  • Carry out risk assessments and contribute to safeguarding processes, including attending meetings where required

  • Ensure a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment for all families

This is a community-based childcare role, so a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (with business insurance) is essential.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Qualified to Level 3 NVQ in Childcare/Play, NNEB or equivalent (or working towards)

  • Experienced in childcare, play work, or family support roles

  • Knowledgeable in safeguarding and child protection procedures

  • Passionate about supporting diverse communities and committed to NCHA's CLEAR values

  • Organised, compassionate, and confident working independently and as part of a team
