Job Description
Our Client, a Greater Manchester council, is seeking a Children's Social Worker to join their Front Door Team.

Responsibilities of this role:
- Act as a first point of professional response for contacts and referrals concerning children and families
- Undertake high-quality assessments in line with statutory duties under the Children Act 1989 and 2004
- Make timely, proportionate decisions to safeguard children and promote their wellbeing
- Work closely with MASH partners, early help services, and other agencies to triage and progress cases
- Identify levels of risk and need, initiating appropriate interventions or signposting to services
- Complete clear, analytical, and timely case recording and documentation
- Participate in strategy discussions, safeguarding enquiries, and decision-making forums
- Engage confidently with children, families, and professionals in often complex and high-pressure situations
- Contribute to a supportive team culture and reflective practice
Requirements of this role:
- Must be a Qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England.
- Must have minimum of 3 years post qualifying social work experience

- Monitor workloads, allocate cases effectively, and maintain clear systems to ensure compliance with statutory guidance and local procedures.
- Use data and performance insights to drive continuous improvement, identifying areas for development and embedding best practice within the service.
- Promote a culture of reflective practice, professional curiosity, and child-centred decision-making across the team.
