Job Description
Residential Support Worker - Children's Home

Pay: £13.40 per hour Location: Bristol

Support young people aged 10-17 living in residential care, helping them feel safe, supported and able to reach their full potential.

Role Summary

  • Provide practical, emotional and behavioural support to young people.

  • Act as a positive role model and build warm, trusting relationships.

  • Follow care plans, update records and contribute to reviews and meetings.

  • Support daily routines including cooking, cleaning and household tasks.

  • Help young people develop confidence, self control and life skills.

  • Offer 1:1 support, advocacy and guidance during times of stress or difficulty.

  • Encourage education, activities, community involvement and healthy routines.

  • Work collaboratively within the staff team and attend team meetings.

  • Maintain safeguarding, equal opportunities and professional standards at all times.

Requirements

  • Ability to work shifts including early/late shifts, weekends, sleep ins and on call.

  • Willingness to adapt to rota changes when required.

  • Full participation in training, supervision and team development.

  • Ability to drive company vehicles (if licence held).

  • Enhanced DBS required.

General Duties

  • Keep accurate written records and financial logs.

  • Support colleagues and contribute to a positive team culture.

  • Follow all policies, procedures, health & safety and safeguarding guidelines.

  • Engage with external agencies and support services when needed.
