Job Description

Location: West Midlands Job Type: Full-time PermanentSalary: £60,000 per annumSetting: 5-Bed Home 3 Children Low to Medium Support Needs

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Manager to lead a 5-bed Ofsted-registered children's home in the West Midlands, supporting up to 3 children aged 10 and over with low to medium support needs. This is a fantastic opportunity to manage a small, child-centred service with full backing from an established provider.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the home
  • Ensure compliance with the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards
  • Register with Ofsted as the home's Registered Manager
  • Oversee care planning, risk assessments, and safeguarding practices
  • Build and lead a skilled, trauma-informed staff team
  • Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) for the home
  • Liaise with local authorities, social workers, and other key professionals
  • Foster a warm, therapeutic environment focused on development, safety, and independence
  • Monitor and evaluate care delivery, ensuring continuous improvement
  • Assist with budget planning and resource allocation in collaboration with the provider

Experience & Requirements:

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in children's residential care within the last 5 years
  • At least 1 year in a supervisory or managerial role
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, trauma-informed practice, and child development
  • Experience supporting children with low to medium emotional, behavioural, or learning needs
  • Confident in working with multi-agency teams and leading inspections
