Successful Applicants

• Passionate about improving outcomes and making a meaningful difference to children and young people
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in residential childcare, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role within the last 5 years
• Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare (essential)
• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (preferred at application stage, or willingness to enrol within 6 months)
• Strong understanding of The Children's Homes Regulations, Quality Standards, and wider childcare legislation
• Knowledge and experience of supporting children with emotional, behavioural, and social difficulties, including trauma-informed approaches
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to plan, organise, and manage resources effectively
• Experience in budget management and operational oversight
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Full UK driving licence

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of high quality, child centred care within a residential home
• Ensure each young person has a comprehensive, individualised care plan covering emotional, educational, social, health, and developmental needs
• Build, lead, and develop a strong staff team through recruitment, induction, supervision, and ongoing development
• Promote a culture of consultation, ensuring children and young people are actively involved in their care
• Allocate and support Key Workers to deliver effective care planning
• Maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements, including Quality Standards and the Home's Statement of Purpose
• Take responsibility for safeguarding, complaints, and child protection concerns, ensuring appropriate escalation and resolution
• Work collaboratively with external agencies, including social care, education, health services, and families
• Attend and contribute to care planning meetings, reviews, and professional discussions
• Promote a safe, stable, and nurturing environment for all young people
• Oversee the effective financial and operational management of the home in line with budget expectations
