Deputy Children's Home Manager - Solo Residential Provision
Goldthorn, Wolverhampton (WV4)
£35,000 - £40,000 per annum (DOE) + 2 sleep-ins per week (Equivalent to approx. £40,200 - £45,200 per annum inclusive of sleep-ins)
On-call allowance (£20/shift), high-end location, and direct support from the RI
Full Time 9am - 5pm Pre-opening 1-on 2-off Post-opening Rota
Connective Careers Pathways is recruiting on behalf of a premium residential provider for a highly skilled, resilient, and leadership-driven Deputy Children's Home Manager. Based in the Goldthorn area of Wolverhampton, you will play a pivotal role in setting up a brand-new, solo EBD residential home, the company already has many successful homes at GOOD with Ofsted. This is a fantastic step for an ambitious practitioner looking to launch a brand-new service alongside a supportive Registered Manager and Responsible Individual (RI).
The RoleAs the Deputy Children's Home Manager, you will assist the Home Manager in the operational and administrative setup of the new provision prior to opening. Once operational, you will help lead the team, focusing heavily on creating a therapeutic, structured environment for a young person with complex emotional and behavioural needs.
Key responsibilities- Supporting the Registered Manager and RI with the initial commissioning and setup of the home.
- Managing and analyzing behavioral triggers and underlying stimuli to create robust care frameworks.
- Designing and embedding therapeutic response strategies for the staff team to confidently deliver.
- Overseeing daily operations, compliance, safeguarding, and staff supervision.
- Participating in a shared on-call rota rotation between two local homes.
- Proven experience as a Deputy Manager or an experienced Senior looking to step up within a children's residential EBD environment.
- Skills: Excellent understanding of Ofsted regulations, strong leadership capabilities, and complete resilience against challenging behaviours.
- Driving Licence: Full UK Driving Licence (essential).
- Qualifications: Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (Level 5 Leadership & Management is highly desirable or a willingness to work towards).
- Pre-Opening Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:00.
- Post-Opening Shift Pattern: 1 day on, 2 days off.
- Note: Once the young person is fully settled, the rota will be reviewed by the manager for a potential transition to a 2-on 4-off shift pattern.
- On-Call: Shared on a rota basis between two homes (£20 per shift).
- Strong basic salary of £35,000 - £40,000 per annum (dependant on experience).
- Flat rate of £50 per sleep-in (calculated at 2 sleep-ins per week, adding an extra £5,200 annually).
- Extra £20 per shift on-call allowance.
- Direct mentorship from an experienced Registered Manager and Responsible Individual.
