Children's Bee Educator
Posted 5 hours 18 minutes ago by DeedMob B.V
Assist Education lead in regular summer 2 hour sessions about bees and pollinators for children aged 5-11. Possibility to join the monthly planning team.
Our Discovery Centre is a fully resourced classroom sized outbuilding with an indoor observation hive and views into our small apiary, set in a lovely garden. Lesson plans are available but new ideas are always welcome. You would join a small, friendly team offering teaching, resourcing and admin support.
We hope to run fortnightly sessions for schools, home education groups and uniformed groups through May to September, depending on volunteer availability.
We usually allow an hour for set up and an hour for clear up, plus a couple of hours of planning. Our visits receive very positive feedback as we provide an exciting hands on experience not possible in a traditional classroom setting.
