Job Overview

Children Residential Support Worker (Day & Night Shifts available) Shifts: Full-time (Day, Day Sleep in, Nights available). Purpose of the Role: To provide high quality care and support to children and young people in a residential setting, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.

You will work as part of a dedicated team to create a safe, nurturing, and stable environment that promotes the welfare and development of every child in our care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct Care: Provide day day care for children, including supporting with morning and bedtime routines, meal preparation, and personal hygiene as required.
  • Safeguarding: Actively promote the safety and wellbeing of children, identifying and reporting any safeguarding concerns immediately in line with company policy and Ofsted requirements.
  • Emotional Support: Build positive, professional relationships with children, offering emotional support and guidance to help them manage their behaviours and feelings.
  • Key Working: Act as a Key worker for assigned children, contributing to care plans, risk assessments and attending statutory reviews.
  • Education & Activities: Support children with their education and encourage participation in a wide range of social, recreational, and educational activities.
  • Reporting and Recording: Maintain accurate, concise and clear daily logs, incident reports, and progress notes in accordance with Ofsted standards and SCIFF.
  • Household Duties: Contribute to the cleanliness and maintenance of the home, ensuring it remains a warm and welcoming environment.
  • Team Collaboration: Attend induction, team meetings, training handovers, and supervision sessions to ensure consistent care and professional development.
What We're Looking For
  • Experience working with children and young people, particularly within residential or EBD settings (preferred but not essential)
  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviour in a positive and professional manner
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare
  • Willingness to work shifts including weekends and bank holidays
  • Minimum of 6 months previous UK experience
  • Full UK driving licence
Professional Growth

Fully funded Level 3 Diploma training if not attained.
