Children in Care & Adoption Admin Supervisor

Join Sirona care & health as a Children in Care and Adoption Supervisor (Band 4) and play a vital role in supporting some of the most vulnerable children and young people across Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dedicated, multi-disciplinary service committed to improving health outcomes and reducing inequalities for children in care and those on the adoption pathway.

You will be at the heart of a busy, supportive team, providing high-quality administrative and supervisory support to Children in Care Nurses and the wider service. Acting as a key point of contact, you will liaise daily with healthcare professionals, social care, carers and partner agencies, ensuring the smooth coordination of statutory health assessments and maintaining accurate, confidential records.

This role plays a vital part in supporting the delivery of our Review Health Assessments (RHAs), helping to ensure high quality health care for children in our service. RHAs are carried out by a specialist nurse, who will meet with the child in a setting that suits their needs this may be the foster carer's home, a clinic, or a school environment.

Main duties
  • To provide efficient and effective administrative and secretarial support to the service under the direction of the designated nurse for Children in Care.
  • To be efficient in the use of IT and Databases and facilitate the review health assessment process for Children in Care.
  • To liaise daily with professional from partner agencies, Children in Care and young people and carers.
  • To deal with information relating to children about whom there are child protection concerns in a confidential and sensitive manner.
  • To be responsible for the line management of administrative staff and the day to day running of administrative functions.

Person Specification Experience
  • Evidence of ability to plan activities of own role
  • Must work using own initiative /work independently in own role, knowing when to seek appropriate guidance from more senior members of staff
  • Effective interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Able to prioritise time and tasks effectively
  • Evidence of using own judgement in a range of situations at work
  • Experience of working under pressure in an effective manner
  • Line Management Experience
  • Familiar with in house computer systems/databases e.g. Careplus, Cerner and Bristol City Council Protocol
  • Awareness of Trust Policies and Procedures relevant to the duties of the post e.g. Health and Safety, Confidentiality and Data Protection
Qualifications & Training
  • Qualification in English Language GSCE C or above
  • RSA 3 typing qualification or equivalent
  • Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Email
