Shoots Training are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and hardworking individual to complete their Level 2 or 3 Childcare Apprenticeship at Hopscotch Pre School, Ferndown.

Requirements

• Preferably have GCSE grades A -C or 4-9 in Maths and English, or equivalent or willing to work towards them

Hopscotch Preschool and Nursery is a long-established setting based in Ferndown and caters for children from 3 months to 3 years.

We are a busy and thriving setting within a purpose-built building surrounded by large outdoor spaces and overlooking protected heathland.

Your duties and responsibilities

• They will have a genuine interest in supporting the development and wellbeing of young children, demonstrating patience, kindness, and a positive attitude.
• They are likely to be at the early stages of their career, developing their confidence and practical skills within a real working environment.
• The candidate should be willing to take direction from experienced staff, show initiative in everyday tasks, and be open to feedback to support their professional growth.
• Good communication skills are important, as they will interact with children, colleagues, and parents. They should also demonstrate reliability, a willingness to work as part of a team, and an understanding of the importance of safeguarding, health and safety, and maintaining a nurturing, inclusive environment.
• The candidate will be working towards building knowledge of child development, learning through play, and supporting routines, while gradually taking on more responsibility as their competence and confidence increase.

Hours

• Hopscotch Pre School is open from 7:45am - 6:00pm Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)
• The successful candidate will be required to work 35 hours per week, 9am-4pm 5 days per week
