Our Personal Lines business has been growing significantly and is now over £7bn in GWP. We've got ambitious plans to grow the business further and become clear market leaders, delivering great outcomes for shareholders and customers. We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and strong technical insurance specialist to lead Pricing, Product & Underwriting, as our Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO) for Personal Lines. This role is accountable for the underwriting, pricing and product outcomes across all of our products sold across both Aviva and Direct Line brands. Our most significant products are Motor, Home and Travel but includes Pet and other specialty lines.The CUO is a critical member of the Personal Lines Executive Committee (Exco) working closely with the Personal Lines CEO, Managing Directors, and CFO. The successful candidate will lead a team of over 300 specialists across pricing, underwriting, product and underwriting fraud prevention. Central to the role is being driven to deliver our plan and UKGI long term aspirations by providing best in class underwriting, technical pricing and product management across all UKGI PL products. As well as being critical in delivering the PL Financial plan, this role also plays a key role in ensuring regulatory adherence, robust risk management and alignment to Consumer Duty. Skills & Experience we are looking for: Deep understanding of the UK general insurance market and significant experience in underwriting roles in senior positions First class understanding of product & pricing capabilities, underwriting fraud and prevention Good knowledge of existing and emerging claims issues, reinsurance and its applications Knowledge of socio-economic and legal environment as it affects insurance. Experience of managing underwriting accounts and leading a large team of technical specialists fostering a culture of continuous improvement.We have pricing teams in Norwich, London, Perth, Glasgow and other locations so the role will require travel to spend time with the teams in these locations.
