Our client seeks a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join their team

Role Profile

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) - CSP is a newly created executive leadership role, established to support the organisation's continued growth and operational maturity. Reporting directly to the Board, the COO will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering the next stage of the company's strategic development. Although not a Board member, this role operates immediately below Board level and is central to translating strategic objectives into effective operational execution.

A key focus of the role will be the successful implementation and embedding of a new core system across the business, ensuring seamless integration into existing operations and the establishment of robust workflows, processes, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities Strategic & Operational Leadership
  • Act as a key partner to the Board in delivering strategic growth objectives
  • Lead and optimise day-to-day operations across the business
  • Drive operational excellence, scalability, and efficiency across all functions
Systems Implementation & Transformation
  • Lead the organisation-wide implementation of a new core system
  • Ensure successful integration into existing business processes and structures
  • Develop and embed standardised workflows, policies, and procedures
  • Oversee change management activities to ensure smooth adoption
Functional Oversight
  • Provide leadership and direction across:
  • Human Resources (HR)
  • Operations
  • Payments
  • Ensure alignment and performance across all operational functions
Governance & Performance
  • Establish and maintain strong operational governance frameworks
  • Develop and monitor KPIs and performance metrics
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements (where applicable)
Leadership & Culture
  • Lead, develop, and inspire senior operational teams
  • Foster a high-performance, collaborative, and accountable culture
  • Support succession planning and organisational capability building
Key Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience in a senior operational leadership role (COO or equivalent)
  • Strong background in financial services or regulated environments
  • Experience within the CSP sector is highly advantageous
  • Demonstrated success in leading large-scale systems implementation or transformation programmes
  • Strong understanding of HR, IT, operations, and payments functions
  • Track record of working closely with Boards and senior stakeholders
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to operate at both strategic and hands on execution level
  • Strategic thinker with strong commercial acumen
  • Highly organised with a structured, process driven approach
  • Strong change leader with a focus on delivery and outcomes
  • Resilient, adaptable, and comfortable in a fast-growth environment
  • Collaborative leadership style with the ability to influence at all levels
