Quest Employment is recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced and motivated Chef Manager to lead the catering team within a well-established residential care home.
This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate culinary professional with strong leadership skills to oversee kitchen operations, inspire a dedicated team, and deliver an exceptional dining experience for residents.
The RoleAs Chef Manager, you will be responsible for leading the catering department, ensuring high standards of food quality, service, and compliance while managing the day-to-day operation of the kitchen.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Leading, motivating and developing the catering team to deliver an outstanding service.
- Managing recruitment, training, performance and ongoing development of kitchen staff.
- Planning and delivering nutritious, varied and appealing menus that meet residents' dietary requirements.
- Managing food purchasing, stock control and kitchen budgets effectively.
- Ensuring excellent food presentation, portion control and consistent quality standards.
- Maintaining the highest standards of food hygiene, health & safety, COSHH and all relevant legislation.
- Promoting effective communication within the catering team and with residents and the wider care home team.
- Driving continuous improvement through efficient kitchen management, cost control and culinary excellence.
We're looking for an experienced Chef Manager who combines excellent culinary skills with strong leadership and organisational abilities.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven experience as a Chef Manager or in a similar leadership role within hospitality, catering or a care environment.
- Ideally, a minimum of four years' experience in a comparable position.
- City & Guilds 706/1, NVQ Level 2 in Catering or an equivalent qualification.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach and develop a successful team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A proactive approach with the ability to work independently and make informed decisions.
- Experience managing budgets, stock control and food costs.
- A thorough understanding of food hygiene, health & safety and compliance standards.
- A passion for delivering high-quality food and an exceptional dining experience.
