Qualification: Culinary diploma or relevant certification preferred.
Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of experience required with knowledge of local and international cuisine.
Salary: £16 per hour
Job OverviewThe Chef is responsible for preparing high-quality food according to menu specifications while maintaining hygiene standards and ensuring smooth kitchen operations. The role requires creativity, consistency, and adherence to food safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities Food Preparation & Production- Prepare and cook menu items according to standard recipes.
- Ensure food quality, taste, and presentation meet restaurant standards.
- Maintain portion control and minimize food wastage.
- Assist in menu planning and development of new dishes when required.
- Ensure smooth kitchen operations during service hours.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen workstations.
- Monitor stock levels and notify management for replenishment.
- Store food items properly using the FIFO (First In, First Out) method.
- Follow food safety and sanitation standards at all times.
- Maintain personal hygiene and grooming standards.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards immediately.
- Control food costs and reduce wastage.
- Monitor expiry dates and proper storage of ingredients.
- Assist in stock taking and inventory management.
- Coordinate effectively with kitchen and service staff.
- Assist in training junior kitchen staff when required.
- Maintain professional communication with team members.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques.
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service hours.
- Good time management skills.
