Job Description
Job Overview

This role requires cover between two Barchester homes - Ross Court Care Home in Ross-On-Wye and Tewkesbury Fields care home in Tewkesbury. The rate of pay includes a 12.07% bank worker enhancement. As a casual, part time Bank Chef you will deliver hotel/restaurant standards with flexible working hours and no split shifts or long weeks. You will assist the Head Chef in creating nutritious, flavoursome, and well balanced menus and work with residents to tailor menus around their needs.

Job responsibilities
  • Assist the Head Chef in creating nutritious, flavoursome, and well balanced menus.
  • Work with residents to tailor menus around their needs.
  • Manage the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence.
  • Work fresh produce to deliver high quality, wholesome dishes.
  • Create a warm, efficient, and fun environment for the team.
  • Work within budget, conduct audits and manage stock control.
  • Assist in leading and motivating a kitchen team.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Personable and warm approach with genuine interest in residents' wellbeing.
  • Hold City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience helping to lead and inspire a team.
  • Good understanding of nutrition.
  • Experience working with fresh seasonal food.
  • Ability to create a warm and welcoming environment within the home.
  • Good understanding of HACCP.
